Today photographer Rod Stevens and I covered the memorial for Luke Glenn, the Tigard teen who was killed by Washington County sheriff's deputies. Luke was distraught and drunk as he held a pocket knife to his throat and theatened his life and his family's.
Luke had just graduated from Tigard High School last May...
With the 2006 Portland Marathon just around the corner, how do you know you have what it takes? Like many people, I am hoping to run a marathon at least once in my life, but I know I am NOT ready for this one. (Yes I do have major marathon envy!)

I will never forget where I was when I learned of the attacks on the World Trade Center.
I was in the most remote part of Oregon, in the Steens Mountain Wilderness, riding in the week-long 'Cycle Oregon' bike tour with 1,500 other cyclists.
