After enjoying the sunshine all weekend - on Sunday the Mission Theater is hosting Portland Opera singers - as they do Tom Waits.

The opera stars will be singing with Michael Papillo Lucky #13 in what they say will be the heavenly "honey and smoke" voices. It sounds pretty cool.

Although the preview says there will be "not a raspy growl" among them - not sure if that's ...

The Vaselines pre-dated Northwest indie rock and 'Twee' by a longshot, and their catchy pop anthems are back as tehy reformed for this year's tour.
You've probably heard a bunch of their songs many thought were written by Nirvana on Incesticide and Unplugged. Check 'em out with the Duchess and the Duke at Doug Fir $20.
