David Krough: June 2008 ArchivesHere comes the heat - after the river, you'll wanna cool off with some of my music picks -- here's a quick rundown: Friday at the Tonic Howie and the Hot Knives, the Decliners, and denim vested swamp garage of the Muddy River Nightmare Band.
Over at the Wonder Ba... Those who can't play guitar, play Guitar Hero. But before that, you grabbed a tennis racket and did splits on your bed wailing along with Eddie -- so now's the chance to see the best non-guitar players in Portland trying for the national championship.

A couple more nights to fill -- the the Hold Steady (July 27, Crystal) and the Melvins (July 25, Wonder) have added Portland shows. >> Continue reading: Hot dogs and cool nights Why not all three? Dudes, seriously, it's almost hard to think of going to shows when it's like this outside. May go and whack some around, I like hitting up Portland meadows (no woods) driving range, or check out Heron Lakes. Then it's off to Farmer's Market for sure to get the fresh MEAT and fixings for a long late afternoon grilling. Also found some great and newish patio spot... Donned the winter coat against the wet chill this morning, and it looks like there's absolutely no chance of sun for the Rose Fest Grand Floral Parade. Seriously, if summer ever starts it better dang well last until Thanksgiving. Very busy with all things festival this weekend, so when you're not mixing it up with ... |
