In Portland we love our vinyl, maybe even more than Seattle. OK, forget I said that jet city, that fight's for another day. Anyhoo, Saturday the new tradition continues around town with Record Store Day.

As the Internet continues to destroy everything else in its path, organizers decided to honor the humble record store, as a time honored way to truly get in touch with music face to face. Few of us are the kind to lurk in Championship vinyl, seeking out-of-prints and imports, but thankfully the classic record format is making a comeback.

And this year - live music abounds at stores around Portland. And the Rose City's own Dandy Warhols released a special remix disc for Record Store Day. Download here
