No lonely weekend this time kids, DK is back to fill you with picks for dirty rock and roll and even some Lit-rah-choore. Starting Friday: Muddy River Nightmare bands returns to the Tonic Lounge on Sandy, don't miss thier swampy, grinding garage stomp as you admire their custom band vests. Word is they never take em off. Over at Audio Cinema it's the legendary Oblivian Seekers, twang and strut. Dowhn in Salem, Producer Rich says the old Elsinore Theater will be a great venue for Alt Country/ rocker/ Deadhead Ryan Adams. OK Saturday: Saturday night: Fistful of Cash is the eeriest Johnny Cash tribute band I've ever heard, as soon as they started their first song first time I heard em, people in the other barroom whipped their necks around thiking it was either a really clean sounding Cash CD playing, or some black-clad ghost had entered the building. That's at the Bitter End, with the punkabilly Blackout Radio At the White Eagle a Tom Waits tribute night should be interesting. I think the piano is haunted there too. Finally, MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY:
The author will be reading from 'All over but the shouting' in Portland at downtown Borders on Monday January 29, 7 p.m. WHAT: Jim Walsh, author 'All over but the shouting' party |
