Rock n Roll Weekend

Ever seem like concerts come in waves to P-town? If so, then get ready to get drenched this weekend. Friday night kicks off not one, not two, but three shows fighting for your buck - and your groove-time.

The big one kicks off over at the Memorial Coliseum when Interpol hits the Rose City in support of their new album, Our Live to Admire. The disc checked in at #4 on the Billboard charts its opening week. The Rose Quarter ticket server was down at last check, but tickets may still be available.

Feelin' groovier? Then hip-hop your way over to the Crystal Ballroom, where California's Blackalicious will be dropping rhymes. The label-mates of Portland's own Lifesavas, Blackalicious shares that group's positive vibes.

Or you can try one of the "it" bands of the summer, Canada's Tokyo Police Club. The lads don't even have a full album out yet, but they do have an appearance on Letterman under their belts, not to mention gigs at Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and Bumbershoot. Check 'em out over on the east side at the Doug Fir Lounge.
