After running their Saturday morning-only cafe on Hawthorne - Kenny and Zukes is on full-time with the NYC style deli fixes that have been virtually absent from the Rose City (No, I'm not ignoring you Kornblatt's) Ever seem like concerts come in waves to P-town? If so, then get ready to get drenched this weekend. Friday night kicks off not one, not two, but three shows fighting for your buck - and your groove-time. Terror busters: Take THAT Hipsters: SEATTLE (AP) -- The Department of Homeland Security may be substantially hipper than previously known. Chris Walla, the guitarist and producer for indie rock legends Gourmet Magazine is out with its latest "Restaurant Issue" featuring what it calls the 100 best farm-to-table restaurants in America. No surprise that Portland gets a healthy representation. No surprise either that Higgins Restaurant gets the largest nod, with a short write-up as a local pioneer in the "Urban" category. Gourmet acknowledges ... As the rain starts in it seems a lot of times that club season starts up. Like my youth in Minnesota, when you can't be outside, ya best be in the basement or the garage making noise. Or lapping up noise in some form. The New York Times' love affair with the Rose City continues with a new glowing piece on Portland's "golden age" of food and drink.
