Stephanie Stricklen: September 2008 ArchivesI had this noon live hit from hell and I've been toting around a headache ever since. I got my assignment at 11:30. The mission was to watch Congressman DeFazio's press conference at noon and do a quick-turn on his bailout proposal for 12:30. Provided it started on time (it did) that would give me about 10 to 12 minutes to write the story if I bailed on watching the presser at 12:20. Well, we couldn't get the story into our s... Spotted in the hallway outside of the newsroom: one R2-D2 pop can recycling bin (yes, it's for recycling not for trash). No word on who glued on the antenna. Nicely done, eh?
Hey Sean!! I'm working on getting you an... Question: Am I allowed to blog here if the topic has absolutely, positively nothing to do with health??? Answer: I guess so, since it's pretty much my call what I include here. I'm now on a "regular" dayside shift and am working on special reports for November, so I can't really blog about those. And I'm not fronting health stories at 5pm, so I can't blog about those, either.. and the health story that one of our producers sen... My new webcam finally got here-- works great!! The video blogs proved too cumbersome for me to upload quickly, but I know that as the technology improves, so does the software that we use to upload things to the web. So, I'm not giving up on it yet. This camera takes a higher resolution still pic, too...
Recipe: Spend, ohhh, I dunno.. maybe 40 or so days in China. Add an 18 hour travel day.. a dash of morning arrival in PDX.. and one ugly transition back to my early morning shift and poof: you've got a recipe for tired. Not just any tired, but the kind of tired that actually makes it a little uncomfortable to fall asleep (does that make any sense, or is it just me?).
