March 2009 ArchivesHow did you like that whoopin' Jazz fans? Portland proved yet again... that they are a force to be reckowned with at the Rose Garden. And yes, once again, the home team prevails in this series--- as it has in 12 of their last 13 meetings. The Blazers shredded up Utah 125 to 104....and it really wasn't even that close. What this all means is that the Blazers magic number to make the playoffs is do... By Joe Becker
I was sitting behind the Illinois bench on Thursday watching Illinois and Western Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament. I've been around the country covering the NCAA's over the years....and it's great so see it here in Portland. However, while watching the game...it made me think about all the great NBA playoff games I've seen over the years. The NBA playoffs are ... Well, all signs point to Greg Oden returning to the floor on Wednesday when the Blazers pay a visit to Indiana. And maybe it's a little ironic, because it's Portland's one and only visit of the season to Oden's hometown. Hopefully, we'll get blessed with his presence for the remainder of the season. The Blazers are a half game be... It doesn't matter the time or the season... but when the Lakers come to Portland, they leave with a loss. For the 7th straight time-- dating back to February of 05-- the Blazers beat L.A. On Monday night, they did it very convincingly. But their 111-94 win was overshadowed by a flagrant foul that by Laker's forward Trevor Ariza.....which landed Blazers guard Rudy Fernandez in a Portland hospital overnight. >> Continue reading: Rudy Fernandez Injury Update Blazers win....Blazers win!!! Mark Mason's voice never sounded so good tonight at the Rose Garden...after Portland ended that nasty 9-game losing streak to the Indiana Pacers. In the process, it gives the Blazers a "perfect 10" straight wins at home. Jarrett Jack had a chance to sting Portland at the buzzer, but he could only draw iron. Portland wins, 107-105. So, it now se... The Oregonian's John Canzano was right on with his column in today's paper regarding Greg Oden. And unless it's something much more serious, I'd like to see Oden suprise us all and get out there on the floor and try to play through the pain. Of course, nobody-- except for Oden--- knows exactly how that knee feels with every step. On the heals of JC's column came word today that Oden was evaluated again today... |
