Blazers Center Joel Przybilla hurt his hand in the Blazers thrilling victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night.
The Blazers say that Joel has a scaphoid avulsion fracture in his right hand. Recovery time is supposed to be six to eight weeks, but the Blazers think Joel will be able to play during recovery. He is listed as questionable for the game with New Orleans Friday night a...

Not sure if I do it enough... but I loathe everything about Boston sports, sans the Bruins. Surely, they're next in line to win a title. Boston fans are passionate and very loyal, almost too much. But when it comes to the Patriots, Red Sox, and especially the Celtics losing....I get downright giddy!! Who in their wildest dreams would have seen tonight's outcome going the way it did?? I mean...

The Blazers have dropped two out of their last three games. Boston has dropped two out of their last two. That's right, the Celtics lost again, this time at Golden State. 99-89. That makes two in a row because they lost to the Lakers on Christmas Day.
By the way, I worked Christmas Eve, but had Christmas Day off. I was busy...moving from the big ch...

For whatever reason.... the Blazers couldn't get past those Denver Nuggets tonight, losing 97-89. In the absence of Carmelo Anthony, you would have thought that Portland would have stood a better chance. Well, they don't have to wait long.... same two play Tuesday night back in the Rose City. So, what went wrong? It's easy to point to Brandon Roy-- who finished 44 points shy of his output las...

The Blazers normally bus to and from the Arena, hotel and airport....but a long bus ride is rare anymore. Today, they took the bus to Eugene to beat the Snowstorm and take a charter from Eugene to Denver.
The NBA wants teams to fly in a day before a game if the schedule permits. Blazers TV play-by-play man Mike Barrett told me by phone the bus ride was a positive experience for the team.
"I...

It was another great game I will never forget. I've seen a bunch over the years...and this one ranks right up there. Brandon Roy with 52 points to lead the Blazers past Phoenix at the Rose Garden.
I almost didn't go. I was off work and planned to watch it on TV. However, I wound up going with my son and his friends and a friend of mine. I sat in the 300 level and had a blast. ...

Props to the radio voice of the Blazers (Brian Wheeler) for coining that phrase!
On last night's 11 O'Clock news....I asked the question "where would the Blazers be without Roy's output this season?" Here's a clue... not even close to being 7-games over .500.
Was there any better way for this night to go? Maybe aside from the snow flurries outside my office w...

I can't help but remember some pretty vivid memories of the Blazer teams in the late 80's and early 90's. It was when I became a pretty devoted fan of them. I remember shooting baskets by myself on the driveway of our house on the Oregon coast... listening to the "golden pipes" of The Schonz...and trying to emulate each of the players on that roster (Jerry Sichting included). Wonder ...

Ouch! Once again the Blazers get hit with a last second shot.
It seemed the Blazers could do no wrong the first month of the season. They beat the Spurs by one when San Antonio misses at the buzzer, they beat the Kings the same way and we'll never forget Brandon Roy's 30 footer at the Buzzer to beat the Rockets.
This week, a little of their own medicine.  ...

It started off okay... then got interesting late... but it was still not a pretty outing tonight in Salt Lake City. And what is with the Jazz fans?? They are kinda fickle aren't they?
Brandon Roy tied a career-high with 33 points...and for the first time in his brief career... has back-to-back game of 30+ points.
Still, the remaining players up and down Portland's roster didn't match the energ...

So the Blazers lost a game at home! It's no big deal, really. In fact, I think it's a good thing. It's not like they lost to that team from Oklahoma City or Memphis. It was the Orlando Magic--they of the 17 wins and 5 losses variety. So, where does that put Portland now? A 15 and 8 record is the third best in the Western Conference. Now, 7 of their next 9 at the Rose Garden...

You knew it was bound to happen. The Blazers were due to lose a close game down the stretch.
They beat the Spurs by one back in October when Michael Finley missed at the buzzer at the Rose Garden. They beat the Rockets on Brandon Roy's miracle three at the buzzer in the first week of November. November 24, the Kings missed in the final seco...

Blazers forward Martell Webster will be out about four more weeks because of his foot injury.
Webster played just a few minutes against the Raptors on Sunday in Toronto, but he experenced some acute pain in his left foot. He had surgery to repair a stress fracture on the foot on Oct. 9th. According to the Blazers an x-ray taken Monday revealed that the fracture had regressed from an x-ray l...

Great road trip for the Blazers going 4-1 on the 5 game trip back east. They lost to the Celtics in Boston...but I don't think that is such a big deal. The Celtics started last season 20-2 as well and finished 66-16.
With a 15-7 record, the Blazers have the fifth best mark in the NBA. They have played 15 road games...more than any team in the league.
The Blazers are...

Alright, I gotta ask... who's shocked by the Blazers start to this season? It had better be 100% of you. Honestly, there was no way to forecast this much success this early on. As most of you know, they were dealt the toughest schedule in the NBA to start the year. And did you know this? When the calendar turns to December 11th, the Blazers will have already played ...
