Roy Sinks Rockets with Bomb

Unbelievable.  That is about the only way to describe the end of the Blazers game with the Houston Rockets.

Game tied...and Brandon Roy hits the game winner with 1.9 seconds to go.  98-96 Blazers!

Wait, Yao Ming hits a shot with point 8 seconds to go and he is fouled by Roy. He makes the free throw.  99-98 Rockets.

But then Roy buries a 30-foot bomb at the Buzzer in the final 8 tenths of a second. Blazers win 101-99 in overtime.

"It was fun," said Roy, "a lot of fun, but a tough game.  Ron Artest was all over me all night.  I was so dissapointed in myself with that foul, I told Steve(Blake) just give me a shot to make up for it and he gave it to me and I was able to make a tough shot."

Roy thought his foul on Yao would cost the Blazers the game.

"The biggest thing.  I was dissapointed." said Roy.  "The fans were on their feet and I was the one, who fouled him.  I felt like I lost that game.  They(the fans), did an incredible job of sticking with us all night long and got us over the hump against a very good team."

Roy, who was 4 for 16 until his final two shots, scored 5 pts in the final few seconds, including the game winner.   "When I fell I saw it go through the net and I was like wow.  That was an unbelievable shot.  I can't say that I called it, but when I saw it go through the net I was like, thank  you.  It was a blessing from above."

It certainly was and the Blazers are now 2-0 at home and 2-3 on the season.  They take on Kevin Love and Minnesota Saturday at 7pm on KGW.
