I am cleaning up a bit as I get ready to head home for the holidays.
I am making my way through a pile of papers, old scripts, and tapes on my desk,
and found a letter or two that needed to be answered.
I am sorry I didn't get to them until now. It's been a busy few weeks.
It has been quite a year here at Newschannel 8 and in Oregon.
We finished this year with a whirlwind of news from a November to remember ...

My neighbor, Larry, knocked on the door today looking for his Grandson who was visiting with my son, Will.
We chatted about the tragic events of the last two weeks, the lost San Francisco family and death of James Kim, immediately followed by the search for three missing climbers.
Larry asked me, "Do you ever cry"?
Searchers found James Kim's body on December 6th, my birthday.

The Newschannel 8 Great Toy Drive is in its final week and our Toy Box is filling up.
However, we have still have floor space for more toys.
It's hard to believe, but the need is so great this year that we need to fill our sprawling Studio A up from wall-to-wall, and floor-to-ceiling to help as many area boys and girls as we can.
Here's a final weekend chance to join the tremendous community effort to make the holidays...
