So I don't know if you seen them yet, but we are one of the test cities for the "new" dollar coin. Not the old Susan B or Sacagawea dollar coin. The "new" dollar coin. With... wait for it. Pictures of old presidents on them. Yawn. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but really if they want us to carry around big old heavy coins in our pockets and purses... they need to make them more interesting.

Like stamps. You can get great stamps celebrating everything from jazz to jewelry. I realize it's probably harder to stamp out coins but still. What's wrong with a Santa coin for a stocking or a series of endangered animals or dog breeds...sports heroes or cool cars. Those I could actually get my kids to save.

So if you like them... great. But I'm holding out for Hello Kitty.
