We're you as happy as I was watching the Spurs Season opener against the New Orleans Hornets? There have been so many moves made adn you always wonder if every piece will fit. I know it's just one game but the Spurs looked as though they have been playing together for years. The ball movement was outstanding and the defense, especially in the first half could not have been much better.. And then there is the play of Manu Ginobili. That had to be the best sight of all. Manu hit three pointers and drove to the basket the way Manu usually does, which showed me that this guy is healthy and back in form... And as long as he stays healthy, Manu will continue to play at a top level, for a couple of reasons: first and foremost, he is a competitor and wants to win. But lets not forget, Manu is playing for a contract. He is in the final year of his deal with teh Spurs, so he has something to prove to the Spurs, or perhaps some other NBA team. Ouch, did I really say that? |
