It's the new trend for Fall. You'll find it this season all over purses, shoes, luggage, boots -- even furniture! Felt adds another alternative to traditional textures in your outfit, and can be mixed and matched with other fabrics. This is my favorite time of year! If you've been hiding under a rock lately, boot-cut jeans are nowhere to be found! Kids are rocking the skinny jean with everything! Gladiator Sandals -- Forget the flip-flops! It stays warm enough in South Texas to rock these year-round. They go with dresses, jeans, shorts, ANYTHING! Hair Accessories -- Feeling creative? Add a flower, headband, or ribbon to complete your look ROCK it out!! -- Rock chic is in!! How do you do it? Stick to grey, black, silver....clothing embellished with silver studs...vests, t-shirts....black eyeliner, red lipstick.....lots of bracelets. See you in third period!!

Worn by celebrities like Lauren Bush, Teri Hatcher and Reese Witherspoon, not only does this trend look good -- it supports a great cause! The bags are stylish, made out of well-designed burlap and 100% organic cotton. It supports a mighty mission - to help raise awareness and funds for child hunger. Buying just one of these fashionable bags can feed a child in a third world country for an ENTIRE YEAR! The organization has been able to FEED over 40,000 children for a year in school and counting! Support FEED and the World Food Program's School Feeding operations in 74 countries. Handcrafted in Kenya by a coop of women and deaf Kenyans, each FEED 2 Kenya bag includes a $100 donation to the UN World Food Program's School Feeding operations in Kenya. This purchase supports women and deaf Kenyan artisans AND provides nutritious school meals to two Kenyan children for one year. The WFP school feeding program in Kenya is a needed support for a nation that is now dealing with a food crisis leaving 10 million Kenyans at risk of hunger. The other day, the A/C went out in my car...much to my dismay. How come your A/C never goes out in the middle of winter? Nonetheless, I had to adjust my style from a "cool diva" to "sizzling chic" somewhat overnight. However, these tips might come in handy for those of you finding yourself in some hot situations. 1. Stay away from silky fabrics -- pit stains don't look good on anyone. And last but not least...get your A/C fixed!
As a child of the 80's, I was more than upset at the passing of legend Michael Jackson. But while people might remember him as the "King of Pop"...there was much more to this man than just the music and the dance. Whether it was the sequined glove, or the military jacket, Michael Jackson will always be remembered for how he inspired fashion all over the world. His unique look burst on the scene with the "Jackson Five"...bell bottom pants, fedoras, and platform shoes. Paisley shirts and suede vests were his trademark when he was young. As his music changed, so did his style. Who could forget the dashing look of Tuxedo Jackets and white socks? And who didn't don a glove on your left hand with your own sewn-on sequence just to mirror the image of the "gloved one"? When he came out with "Thriller", I begged my mom to get me a red military jacket. What would I have worn it with? Who knows...but I HAD to have one. And WHO do you think made Aviator glasses cool?? Well, it certainly wasn't Tom Cruise...it was Michael Jackson! Michael's music will live on forever, but his clothes have inspired people around the world (including me) to show their creativity and character through their clothing.
An easy excuse to slip out of that teeny weeny bikini....and hide that extra five pounds you've been trying to lose, the vintage bikini looks great on ANY shape! PLUS...you'll be the trendiest girl on the beach! These suits were inspired by the 1950's icon - Marilyn Monroe, who made the suit the staple of fashionistas of that era. If you've ever had to suck in your tummy....the retro suit is just for you! It is a one-piece that flatters every figure, with a variety of styles to choose from. Need a little lift? Try a halter style. Have great collarbones? Try a low-cut V-neck or an off the shoulder or one shoulder style. If your legs are your best asset, put on a suit with a higher-cut on the thighs. That will elongate your legs and make them look fabulous! So take some fashion advice from Marilyn...and rock the vintage bathing suit! |
