Evans Leaves UA Softball Staff
TUCSON, Ariz.--Nancy Evans, assistant coach and a former star player for the Arizona softball program, has resigned from her position to pursue other opportunities, head coach Mike Candrea announced today.

I think I saw a graphic the other day that said only two teams have ever played their way through the losers bracket and won the softball college world series...UCLA and Texas A&M if memory serves...That will be the task facing Arizona...They'll have to win Saturday evening and twice on Sunday to advance to the championship series...Vinnie

It's that time of year again for the Arizona Softball team. Mike Candrea is getting his ladies prepared to bring the U of A an 8th National Championship. Before we start talking about plans for Oklahoma City, the big thing for Candrea is just getting through tomorrow. Arizona beat Baylor Softball 3-0 on Friday night...Taryne Mowatt had a career high 15 strikeouts...Baylor was held scoreless for the first time in 62 games...They only had one hit in the game...Vinnie

It may be early in the season and they may have only won 2 conference games, but the Pima Softball team looks as though they might pull off a perfect undefeated season. I'm not trying to put the jinx on them, but 14 of their 17 wins have come by way of the 5 inning mercy rule and they don't look like they're going to slow down anytime soon. In fall ball they only lost to the Arizona Softball team 2-0 and so far this season they have outscore...
