Mike Stoops had his first press conference of the regular season and no, he did not name a starting quarterback. At this point do not hold your breath waiting for an announcement. He's already guaranteed that both guys will in the season opener against Central Michigan no matter who starts the game. The unfortunate part about this is that All-Conference Tight End Rob Gronkowski's chances of playing are looking very slim. Stoops said Big Rob's status will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis. My interpretation is that Gronkowski is out indefinitely. A back injury is nothing to take lightly and Stoops is doing just the right thing.
