Even though we do not know who is going to start under center for the Arizona Wildcats (at the moment), we do know who is number one in the backfield. Junior running back Nic Grigsby will get the nod when camp kicks off Thursday morning. After racking up 1153 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2008, the nation is taking some notice. Grigsby has been named to the Preseason Watchlist for the 2009 Doak Walker Award, given to the nation's top collegiate quarterback. You have to like this recognition because it gives Arizona a major player (alongside Rob Gronkowski) and go to guy for the Cats offense. A reliable running back will make the quarterbacks job much easier... whoever's under center. All Nic has to do is minimize the fumbles and utilize those skills that have him on the national radar coming into the season. |
