With Arizona Football training camp underway there are some questions that need to be answered in the next month leading up to the first game (BYU 9/2). One question that has a simple answer is the strength and conditioning of the 2006 Wildcats. If you get out to practice you will notice the team looks bigger, explosive, and well conditioned to handle a 12-game season (plus a bowl game). You have to credit the players for their work in the off-season, but another big reason for their physique is Director of Performance Enhancement Corey Edmund and his Associate Mark Hill. I stopped by the weight room to check out one of their workouts this morning and they have these young men driving some serious weight. Everyone (from the wide recievers to the linebackers) is strong. When talking to coach Edmond and coach Hill, it's the effort in the weight room (a combination of discipline, work ethic, and camaraderie) along with execution on the field that will bring Arizona Football back to being a legitimate competitor at the national level. What do you think?
By the way, I'll have in-depth look at what their workouts are all about on the Sunday Fox 11 Sports Force.
