The Coach of USC's men's basketball team is holding a press conference at 3pm at which he is expected to announce that he is staying at USC. ...Garland Judkins and Darnell Shumpert have been suspended for the Arizona State game Sunday night for failing to meet team obligations...Vinnie ...Hello World!!! The UA Volleyball team got there biggest test of the season thus far (3-2 Loss to #9 Washington), and for the most part held their own. Despite losing, they jumped into the AVCA Top 25 Poll at #25 for the first time since Sept. 11, 2006 when they were ranked #24. The Cats are expected to learn from their loss and be ready to bring it to rival ASU on Wednesday. Arizona is still a young team, and hanging with the 9th best team in the country ... High school football practices are officially underway with 2-a-days and you have to wonder who is going to be the surprise team of 2008. A season ago it was the Santa Rita Eagles. Led by legendary coach Jeff Scurran, the Eagles went from an 0-10 record in 2006 to an 11-2 finish last year (missing an undefeated regular season by 2-points - 18-20 Loss to Marana week 2), and a semi-final appearance in the 4A-Division II Playoffs. I know at th... Call me naive, but I'm starting to feel very confident that this may be the year Mike Stoops and the crew turn things around. Of course I've said this the past two seasons only to see the Cats come up short of making a bowl appearance by one game (losing to ASU at the end of the season doesn't help). Considering the offense can score in the upper-thirties/low-forties on a regular basis; that should give Willie & Co. a little breathing room t... Talking to Lute Olson, he's confident the Arizona Basketball team will be moving full speed ahead when the season tips off in November. What would you expect him to say.... he is the head coach. As of right now, today (May 20), you have to admit things look a little shaky. Chase is still undecided about making the move to the NBA. Nic Wise is 50/50 on whether he'll transfer or not, and he's not looking to make a decision until mid-summer. ... |
