I've been getting some very positive feedback on the Fox 11 efforts to cover high school football on Friday night.

If you haven't checked it out, we've expanded our 9 p.m. newscast to an hour on Friday nights and deployed live trucks and crews throughout the area to bring you great highlights, live interviews and the latest scores.

When we started doing local sports several years ago, one frustration is that high school games on Friday night were ending just about the time we were starting our sportscast at 9:20 or so.

But by expanding, we've been able to be on the scene of big games and grab live interviews with players and coaches.

My thanks to Vinnie Vinzetta of the Fox 11 Sports Force, his team and many others who have worked hard to make it newsworthy, fun and interesting.
