Recently by Steve BodinetWe are so lucky to live in this incredible state. Where else can you go from desert, to red rocks to high mountain magic in a matter of hours? As we build our homes throughout the desert, we misplace the homes of others. I'm talking about burrowing owls, the only birds of prey that live underground. ...Mighty Mussels are invading our beloved rivers and lakes. What can you do about it? ...This is the time of year to take to the trails, and those trails are right here in the valley. ...Almost every spring, I'm blessed to do a report on a wonderful place called Canaan in the Desert. ...Face it, most of us here in our fair state are from some place else...many from spots in the country where there're these tall things, called "trees" with green things, known as "leaves" sticking out of them. Now about this time of year, those "trees" grow tired of their summer suit and decide they'd look better in yellow, or red, or bright orange. It's called "autumn", or "fall" cuz those beautiful colored "leaves" gently float to the gro... It's that time of year again. You know, when the temperatures finally dip down below 100, sometimes even into the 90's. it's called October and in the high country, the weather is beautiful. So you need to head that way to see something all you Midwesterners used to take for granted. The changing of the leaves. The first half of Oct. means Flagstaff, Sunrise, Lakeside, Greer, Show Low, and Williams are cool hot spots. Aspen trees blanket th... I hear it almost everyday. It's true, I do have a great job, traveling our wonderful state, looking for beautiful spots and interesting characters to put on our 3TV's Good Evening Arizona. ... |
