Want to fish? Want to Rodeo? Payson is the place to be! Set under the Mogollon Rim, we really enjoyed the town and all of its ammenities. No pies this day, but plenty of flashbacks to that infamous moment. Is Scott really strutting around a little? Quite possibly. The air was cool. There was frost on the ground by the time we got the show started. Thank goodness for the portable propane heaters that were brought along. Tara... Road Trip 2008 began as we rolled into Cave Creek on Sunday afternoon in this year's colorful RV. It's a Safari "Simba." I really like the name Simba so I think that's the name I will stick with. It's symbolic of the wild, crazy and unpredictability of GMAZ road trip. Simba drives beautifully and is much bigger than last year's RV. Happy camper here! Did not start off the trip with any flooding like last year, thank goodness! The road to Crown King is not paved and at times a little rough, so I met Keith - designer of the poster - at Bumble Bee and we traded vehicles, putting me into a news truck. Much better for the haul up the mountain, and Tommy D stayed on as my navigator. We stopped in Cleator, which is not much more than the saloon, for a break and to warm up by the wood stove. A very friendly and welcome group of residents. The John Wayne cut-out at... Well, it is the end of Day 2 of the Good Morning Arizona Road Trip and besides being a little tired, the trip has been good. ... |
