Recently by Scott CodyA couple of things... Reggie Bush to the IR today... can't say I didn't see this one coming. Unfortunately for Saints' fans, it's probably not the last time they see this headline. Bush has shown he is fragile... and no that doesn't mean he's Italian (A Christmas Story reference). Even still, I have yet to jump on the "overrated" bandwagon. I think Reggie is a special player. He's a game changer on special teams and can be a handf... With Colston away, Meachem will play. But I don't think the former first round pick will be the stopgap. Sure he'll get some touches... and any touches for him will be big touches. He was the only first round pick NOT to step on the field last season, and again in week 1 of this season, he found himself in street clothes. To keep my mind off what might be in the gulf, I've decided to put my mind on what might be with the Saints 53-man roster. As I pull out the hiliters and attacked the current roster (minus the cuts from today), there were 45 players that didn't require much hesitation. Starting right off the top numerically with No. 1 Martin Gramatica. He hasn't missed a field goal as a Saint when it counts. He's proven and Taylor Mehlhaff isn't. ... |
