ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas thinks the Saints should avoid the flash and just take defense with the team's first round pick. CBS Sportsline has a front page story today about the Saints' draft needs. Apparently, the prevailing thought is that New Orleans needs some help on defense. In other news, Barack Obama is President of the United States and Drew Brees plays quarterback for the Saints. But seriously, anything written about New Orleans and the Saints is good news. So, here's a link.<... NFL.com held a very cool feature today, where Saints coach Sean Payton fielded questions from fans in a chat. Most of the questions were submitted beforehand, but it's a nice sign that the NFL is looking to make their online experience more interactive. Most southeast Louisiana Saints fans, and especially members of the media, have to be ecstatic after the news that the team is moving its training camp back from Jackson, MS to Metairie. The three-hour ride from the metro area to Jackson, while manageable, just wasn't as convenient as the team's brief stint in Metairie from 2003-2005. But looking at... The New Orleans Saints have signed on Tuesday free agent center Nick Leckey to a one-year contract. Leckey, a 27-year-old five-year NFL veteran, has played for the Arizona Cardinals and the St. Louis Rams. He was a sixth rounder in the 2004 NFL draft out of Kansas State. Since then, he's appeared in 57 games, starting 32 of them. Leckey's season was cut short last year after the Rams put him on injured reserve with a broken bo... Former Saints fullback Mike Karney got married recently and also got some other good news - he's again fully employed. The St. Louis Rams and Mike Karney agreed to terms on Wednesday. ... |
