Bushrod likely out; Strief to get start

3:25 PM Wed, Sep 30, 2009 |
Bradley Handwerger

Jermon Bushrod said in the locker room on Wednesday that he was likely out for Sunday's game against the Jets. That means Zach Strief will get the start at left tackle.

With Bushrod out, there's no one on the roster set as a true backup at tackle.

Strief said he would expect Jamar Nesbit to be that guy since he has played every position.

Bushrod sprained his ankle for the second time when he twisted it against Buffalo.<...

But on Wednesday and Thursday, the Saints' official injury report listed Brown out only with the sports hernia surgery, which was going to keep him ...

Thomas has missed practice since spraining his right MCL against Houston on Aug. 22. At his locker on Wednesday he said he was waiting on getting a knee brace to help stabilize the knee before he could go fully.
