Young, who told the Times-Picayune of his release, spent much of the past two seasons injured, going on injured reserve in the latter half of both 2007 and 2008. He missed seven games in 2007, four with a knee injury before eventually going on IR with pneumoni... The U.S. is bidding for the 2018 or 2022 World Cup. You know, that rather well-followed event that is a soccer playoff? Anyway, 70 stadiums were submitted to host and both the Superdome in New Orleans and Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge are among the venues that could nab World Cup matches. The event being in the summer, usually in June, means it ... For much of this spring, every mock draft has the Saints picking either CB Malcolm Jenkins or RB Chris "Beanie" Wells. Well, here's a new one: nationalsportsreview.com has New Orleans taking USC LB Ray Mauluga. It's an interesting choice. The Saints are fairly thin at linebacker and could use someone to complem... I'm generally not big on retreading blog information. But my friends Jeff Duncan at the Times-Picayune and Fletcher Mackel at WDSU both threw this video out on the Web. Presumably, they got it from someone else. It's how the internet works. Crazy stuff. Anyway, back on topic, this is a pretty fantastic video that shows us just how ridiculous Drew Brees is. All those times we wonder why he tries to "force" passes into small win... There's a story out there about how lawmakers would like auditors to look at two deals reportedly in the works with Bobby Jindal's administration. And for sports fans, you have to look past the chicken plant part of this story. Those who make laws and those who spend taxpayer money want someone to look into a proposed deal... While the Times-Picayune is chronicling the best picks the Saints have had, bleacherreport.com scoffs at that positivity. No, this is Saints territory and only cynics are welcomed. That being so, apparently 2003 is the worst draft class for New Orleans in the past 15 years. Kind of makes you all warm and fuzzy thinkin... Randy Benson of The Daily Advertiser, Lafayette's newspaper of choice down in Cajun Country, thinks the NFL did the Saints no justice by giving the New Orleans franchise the 8th-toughest schedule. His point about not having a Sunday night game is off, I think. The Saints pick up three primetime games - two Monday nighters on ESPN and one Saturday night ga... Date Matchup TV Time Saints running back Reggie Bush told the Associated Press that the way he's reading the team's offseason moves, they're telling him it's time to step up. What, that gigantic paycheck didn't have the same meaning? ...Don Banks over at SI.com thinks the Saints will go with an Ohio State player regardless of position in the first round. At No. 14, the Saints could have several players fall to them but also could have a player or two high up on their board slip away.
