News of the Day:
There wasn't much, so we'll go with injuries.

LB Dan Morgan strained his calf early in practice.

TE Dan Campbell will have surgery on Monday to repair some damage to an MCL in his knee. He's expected to be ready by training camp.

TE Darnell Dinkins has a sprained ankle.

Scrum Count:
Afternoon Friday: 1
Total for camp: 3

Other observations:
CB Jabari Greer moved into the first team position this afternoon, pushing CB Tracy Porter to second team. But don't read too much into it. The coaches have said they'll be mixing and matching for the time being.
LB Dan Morgan made a nice interception in the very beginning of practice, picking off QB Mark Brunell during second-team pass drills.
On the first play of team work, LB Jonathan Vilma intercepted QB Drew Brees, drawing loud applause from the nearly 3,000 fans who were out watching practice.
K Garrett Hartley made all six of his kicks, though from where I was, I couldn't tell how far each were.
During the second team period, WR Devery Henderson made a nice rolling-on-the-ground catch from Brees.
RB Mike Bell again looked good, though I'll throw this out there: they aren't in pads and it's not full contact. Still, he caught a pass from Brees, cut to his right, then cut to his left and exploded down the field.
TE Jeremy Shockey made a diving catch, eliciting more cheers from the folks out watching.

Saturday:
The 10:15 a.m. practice is again open to the public on Saturday. The team then will break and go again at 3 p.m. The afternoon practice is closed to the public.
