Meachem to break out in '09? Sporting News says yes

Here's something you haven't heard in a long time, if ever: The Sporting News says that Robert Meachem is one of the likeliest candidates to have a breakout season in 2009. It'll be his third year, though second if you don't count his injury-plagued first season.

The sports mag is assuming the Saints will have trouble holding onto Devery Henderson and Lance Moore.

We'll see.

What do you think? Does Meachem have a shot at becoming a legit threat on the perimeter?

I think he should have played more this year. I've liked what I've seen of him so far, but he didn't get many opportunities this season to show what he's got. I think he could outplay Devery Henderson if given the chance.

I thnk he has a good chance of breaking out next year if he is thrown to more often. What I have seen of him in preseason this year was very impressive. With the current receiver situation, Brees will need more than one ball to give everybody their reps.

We better be holding on to Lance!!!

Not unless Payton dumbs down the offensive calls.
Time to trade him.

He is one of the people if left on the team will alert me well that the Saints will not get to the playoffs.

Here are the other characters that costs us a shot at being an elite team.

Jason David
Josh Bullocks
Usama Young
Scott Shanle
any other linebackers besides Fujita and Vilma
Billy Miller
Kevin Kaesviharn
Devery Henderson
Mike Karney
Aaron Stecker
Jamal Brown
Charles Grant
Reggie Bush

Stephen you're a moron. Just pull for someone else next year if you don't like ANY of the players on the team. What next... trade Brees for a first round draft pick? Whatever.
