A blogger put together several graphs and charts that show how ESPN's power rankings fluctuated as the year went on. For the Saints, it was a slippery slope: after peaking at No. 4 in Week 2, the team fell out of the top 10, never to return. They finished the season ranked 19th.

The Falcons, on the other hand, is like a mirror image. They started the year as ESPN's 32nd best team and finished it as the 7th -- the same ranking that the Saints started with.
