| Deuce, Shockey, McKenzie to sit for preseason opener »
It's not that no one looked good during the afternoon practice, It's that head coach Sean Payton didn't put his team through much work. No one wore pads and it was more of a walk-through than anything. Highlights: -And Robert Meachem did make a pretty catch in traffic in the end zone from Mark Brunell. But that's about it. -The team ended practice with field goal and both Martin Gramatica and Taylor Mehlhaff nailed their kicks. They kicked 37- and 42-yarders from the right hash while hitting a 38-yard field goal from the left. -Jamaal Brown worked with the third team offense in the afternoon. -The team resumes practice tomorrow afternoon in preparation for Thursday's preseason exhibition game at Arizona. 3 CommentsLeave a comment |

the saints to my understanding are ready to make the next step to becoming super bowl champ's...the way to get there is thru playing strong def.strong offense.strong special team play.and having strong coaching and organization..of which they seem to have now.. then at any other time since the saints have been in the nfl..this to me appears to be the year that all the key pieces are here..now to put it together is the key for the saints this year..i give the saints one more draft year and free agent year to sure up what they need from dept position, but this years team will let it all hang out so buckle your seat belts its going to be a ride saints fans we want forget...p.s saints d-backs you and the kick game will be the reason for wins and lost's...
I will be intrested to see the rookie kicker in preseason games. If he does well in game situations I think he is our kicker for the season.
I agree, this is the year that all the cogs are in the right places. I guess we need to coin the phrase "DP2" (Dome Patrol 2). The schedule looks good, with a few challenges. I think we can compete with the best of them. Keep an eye on where we rank today versus the start of the season. We should be back in the top ten, if not the top five come season kickoff time. We are sure to lock the South this year and only Dallas & possibly Minnesota may be our biggest threats come post season. As long as we stay healthy, we should perform very nicely. I think as a reasonable idea, coach should give Shaun Alexander a call. I'm not impressed by Stecker as we could use a big back to complement Duece, as we have two smaller backs with Bush and Pierre. Just my opinion.
