Saints Camp, Aug. 14 (afternoon): Thomas speaks, and Reggie, too.

The Saints went through about a 55-minute walk through in jerseys and shorts, no helmets Thursday afternoon. After three physical practices against the Houston Texans the past two days, head coach Sean Payton likely wanted his team to begin recuperating in time for Saturday night's game.

Hollis Thomas showed up, hours after having surgery to repair a torn right triceps. And Reggie Bush, who didn't practice in the morning, talked about about his knee.

Thomas said the injury happened when he was trying to "disengage" from a pass rush against Texans center Chris Myers, a fourth-year pro out of Miami.

"Just one of those freak things that happened," Thomas said. "I went to throw somebody and they grabbed the back of my arm and I heard a tear."

Thomas said he originally thought it was a strain. "The MRI was a precautionary thing," Thomas said. "When they went in for the MRI, they saw it."

As for Bush, the running back has been nursing a swollen left knee, something unrelated to his PCL tear late last season.

But don't fear, he said. He's sitting only as a precautionary measure.

"I actually got an MRI," Bush said. "Everything came back positive, looks good. It was great."

The MRI came two days ago and showed no tears or strains, Bush said.

Has the team made a decision if Thomas will be moved to IR? What are the implications if he is moved to the list? Seems like he can't return until Week 8 or so.
