« Camp: Payton happy with first practice against Texans |

| Camp, Aug. 13 (afternoon): Offense picks it up »
The Saints picked camp back up in New Orleans Wednesday morning, practicing for nearly two hours at their Airline Drive facility with the Houston Texans. Seems like a good idea: Break camp in a city three hours away and return home to practice against another team. It breaks up the monotony of practicing against yourself and it also makes the players more focused despite returning home. And the players and head coach Sean Payton said as much. It didn't appear in the morning, however, that New Orleans' offensive line was prepared for the pass rush during one-on-one drills. Highlights: -Saints OL Jamar Nesbit was able to hold off Texans DT Amobi Okoye. A play later, Texans DT Travis Johnson blew right by Nesbit. -New Orleans G Jahri Evans blocked DE Earl Cochran and never allowed him to the QB dummy. -OT Jon Stinchcomb won two battles against DE N.D. Kalu, taking Kalu down to the ground the second time. I didn't get a chance to watch much of the Saints receivers vs. the Texans DBs because I was focusing on the line drills. And the Saints defense was on the other field and blocked from view. Practice goes again at 3 p.m. today, likely in the Saints' indoor facility because it's wet outside. |
