Saints second-round pick Tracy Porter was carted off the field midway through Sunday afternoon's practice with a hamstring injury, head coach Sean Payton said. On the same play wide receiver Devery Henderson walked off the field holding his left leg. Payton said it also was a hamstring injury. Porter went down on a long pass play to Henderson while working with the first team defense. He was holding his right leg. Payton said the extent of the injuries were unknown as of Sunday evening at 6:20 p.m. As for the rest of practice, it was much more crisp than some of the previous ones, but only during the second half of the session. Head coach Sean Payton said it didn't start picking up pace until midway through. That's about the same time it appeared a thunderstorm was going to be rolling through. Highlights: -Porter made a nice pass breakup before his injury when he knocked away a pass from Drew Brees to Henderson in the end zone. -Both Martin Gramatica and Taylor Mehlhaff went 4-for-4 in field goals, making kicks from 31, 35, 40 and 43 yards. -Marques Colston made a nice catch from Brees over the back of Randall Gay. If it were a game, the catch would have a touchdown, and likely would have gotten airplay on ESPN's football replay show. 3 CommentsLeave a comment |

I can understand that they want the guys ready for the season and tough. They cant be pushing these guys past their limits. Long story short please dont bang them up before the season!! This seems to happen allot.
Joe, called football, injuries happen.
Seems with all these hamstring injuries they should stop and restretch periodicly turing practic. I'm no fitness expert but it would seem reasonable.
