NFL Network announcer Cris Collingsworth said during the second quarter of the Hall of Fame game that he hadn't seen a single Saints DB that looked like he was ready to play at the NFL level on the field tonight. He talked about Mike McKenzie, Jason David and Jason Craft getting beaten. Collingsworth has continued to talk about the Saints giving up big plays.

Quite honestly, they look terrible. Granted it's the first preseason game, but HOLY COW - they have not done anything right sans Mare's kickoff for a touchback.

it's the preaseason, the saints have been working twice a day in the heat. it's not a big deal, they've been making this out like a super bowl game today.

relax people, we didn't show anything on offense and / or defense, we were very "vanilla" (meaning we didn't give them any looks or any of the sets we will run in the regular season).

Look for Usama Young to start during the regular season

I would have to agree....

The guy's name is Collinsworth, not Collingsworth.

PRE SEASON IS PRE SEASON, BUT STARTERS ARE STARTERS AND LOOKED REAL BAD IN FIRST QUARTER

If the Saints had played like they could beat the world, Collinsworth and Gumbel would STILL have found a way to make it seem like the Saints were getting beat in every aspect of the game and that it was the end of the world for them. They didn't even focus on broadcasting the game. You would think one of them (perhaps Gumbel who is actually a New Orleans native!) would've at least touched on Michael Irvin's comments during his acceptance speech of Monday September 25, 2006 being his favorite day in football because on that day, football was MORE than a Game! It would seem a natural thing to bring up with the Saints in the game...

Thank goodness we have the option to continue a New Orleans tradition of watching the game and turning down the volume to listen to Jim Henderson...if we could just get rid of the delay it would be perfect.

They don't look any worse than they did last year against Dallas when they were ranked as the 32 team in the NFL

Collingsworth for the most part has never had anything positive to say about the Saints. Last night was'nt any different. . If you ask me, he knows about football, as much as the clown (Bryant Gumble) sitting next to him.

the steelers beat us with "vanilla" plays; screen, inside slant, straight up man on man pitch and catch...nothing elaborate. reason to worry? it's football fundamentals...

They did not look like the team from last year, but i agree that it is all in the game plan. Do not show them all of your tricks. I got bored watching collingworth and the other clown calling the game. I want to see the game not them. On a final note......we will only get better!!!

guys givem a break, do you know anyone that will show there true strength during the regular season? maybe a rookie coach would but not us. Weve done that in the past and finished 0-16 or 3-13 I say we go 0-4 during the pre-season and 16-0 in the regular season.

What happened to the Offense?
What happened to the Defense?
What happened to the CornerBacks?
The whole team did not put forth any effort. We have a long season in store for us if the Cornerbacks are going to have those kinds of performances.

How could a No. 1 Offense from a year ago barely get a first down?
It seems like the AFC will dominate the NFL this year also. The Saints were manhandled on the field in every aspect. Like coach says "We have to do a better job". I'm hoping this game was just trial and error. But we definitely need help in our Secondary.
