The New Orleans Saints have re-signed defensive tackle Hollis Thomas to a four-year, $12 million contract that will be worth $6 million this season with bonuses and salary. That's according to his agent Ron Slavin.

San Diego gave Norv Turner his third shot at leading an NFL team by naming him their head coach Monday.

This came shortly after Saints defensive coordinator Gary Gibbs was interviewed for the same position.

First Drew Brees, now this: Reggie hurt himself while playing in a celebrity basketball game Friday night as part of the weekend festivities leading up to the NBA All-Star Game. Read more.

Reggie already addressed his injury, saying that he put some ice on it and he was up and walking later in the evening.

A team spokesman has told the Associated Press that Drew Brees' dislocated left elbow could keep him out of action between six and eight weeks. As bad as it was, it came at about the only good time for an injury to come, with maximum time before mini-camps and the season.

Wonder if Brees will be pitching beads at Bacchus Sunday night?

The New Orleans Saints have signed LB Scott Shanle to a four-year contract, it was announced by the club today. Shanle, who ranked among the club's top defenders in 2006 with 117 tackles and four sacks, was slated to become an Unrestricted Free Agent on March 2.
